This presentation will educate the beginner and advanced transplant coordinators on the best practices when utilizing Normothermic Regional Perfusion (NRP) in the DCD setting. Based on one OPO’s operationalized standards, the donation consent, allocation, and recovery process will be discussed. Given the increasing attention in the nation to organ recovery practices, these standards will highlight the necessary safeguards to not only ensure trust and transparency with the public, but also maintain the advancements in technology to expand the donation opportunity.
